This is my favourite track off pt1 of the remix album, Re:Call to Mind (I also highly recommend getting pt2). Relistening to the LP now I can’t really pick a favourite, but this track works perfectly as an introduction to this great project as it is more of a homage than any of the others.

I don’t know much about Commix’s first effort, Call to Mind, but this remix album enlists the producers of the highest calibre, across today’s dub spectrum. I highly recommend it.

Don’t know how most of how you feel about Kanye, but I’ve been a massive fan since way back. The only project of his I haven’t really enjoed was the 808 & Heatbreak album. That said, there were a few big tracks on that. And now, he’s dropping one track a week, for a few months for free via his blog. This was the first song from that effort and it is seriously amazing. Jay’s verse is negligible, but Kanye drops some epic swagger on two different tempos. Also, if you’ve not seen the video for the original version of this track, please do, its hypnotic.
