Don’t know how most of how you feel about Kanye, but I’ve been a massive fan since way back. The only project of his I haven’t really enjoed was the 808 & Heatbreak album. That said, there were a few big tracks on that. And now, he’s dropping one track a week, for a few months for free via his blog. This was the first song from that effort and it is seriously amazing. Jay’s verse is negligible, but Kanye drops some epic swagger on two different tempos. Also, if you’ve not seen the video for the original version of this track, please do, its hypnotic.

Taken from the new Kode 9 12″ ‘You Don’t Wash‘, the Actress remix is a lonely world of endless Nintendo levels, possibly Super Mario, but with more of an undercurrent of ether misuse; never sure of your goal but safe in the knowledge that you can carry on faultlessly until the song comes to an end.

There is something about MCDE that I can’t get enough of, whether it is his original productions or remixes. These shuffling, sultry drums are really complemented by the hypnotic vocal samples and sparse piano stabs. Yet another burner from the German.

Macasu – Toby Tobias (MCDE remix)

I love Au Revoir Simone, its nothing new. This remix of ‘Another Likley Story’ by Neon Indian isn’t anything new either, but I’d thought share because it’s très good. The track is taken from the forthcoming Au Revoir Simone remix album ‘Night Light’, due out July 5th.

Why is Brooklyn the fertile crescent of amazing bands?

The Phenomenal Handclap Band is a massive crew that brings psychedelia back in the same vein as The School of Seven Bells, however the Band is infinitely more organic than the Bells. Check out their self-titled debut album, recently released on Tummy Touch (UK). Other standout tracks are “All of the Above” and “15-20″. Since I love 15 to 20 so much, here’s the video. I think it came out last week.

The “You’ll Disappear” remix below is from the Horse Meat Disco boys, who are really focusing on their re-edit/remix game. Their recent comp on Strut is great, as in not too deep and not too cheesy, and I believe they are furiously touring the globe as we speak. Go get em tigers.
