This web developers stationery set and portfolio really caught my eye, possibly because it isn’t what you’d expect to see coming from a developer what with it being so heavily print influenced. Lovely use of colour and info-graphics to portray his skill sets and a cleaver little single page site. Goes to show what a good designer/developer combo can rustle up.

Corporate ID and stationery print for the German crime and horror channel “13th Street Horror” by the Jung von Matt agency of Germany. A simple concept really well executed (excuse the pun), love the way you interact with each piece of collateral.

Beautiful identity and printed collateral from Long Beach-based studio KURO Collective for A Cowboys Dream, a luxury Bed & Breakfast. Make sure to check out the photos of this place, nuts!

Josef Albers (1888-1976) was an influential American artist, teacher, and writer. These album covers were designed for Command Records from 1959 to 1961 and were just featured in an exhibition at Minus Space, Brooklyn.

I love stamps, seals, rubdowns and hand-embossing. We’ve been using rubber stamps and a hand-embossing tool at our studio for our address labels and business cards. Its a great cost-effective solution which adds a really nice ‘hand-finished’ quality to any material.
A nice example of its usage is for the The Bivouac letter head, by the We Are Boxhead studio based in Leeds. We Are Boxhead have loads of fresh work on their website, go check it out.

We love Dieter Rams on this Blog. Spotted this poster on the Design Museum Shop. Its part of a collection of materials produced to celebrate the ‘Less and More’ exhibition currently on. The poster in question details Dieter Ram’s ‘10 Principles’ for good design. There is also a book to accompany the exhibition, which is more than 800 pages deep and looks amazing.

Aisle One is a great graphic design/typography blog I frequent run by Antonio Carusone. This is his 2010 Calendar, and its a treat. Here’s the blurb:
“Limited edition of 50 letterpress prints featuring a calendar with the year printed in English, Italian, French and German. The 2010, the days of the week, and the edition number line are all printed blind. Type is set in Helvetica. All prints are numbered and signed. The calendar size is 16.5″ x 23.5″ (A2) and printed on Crane Lettra Fluorescent White 110# (300gsm) paper.”
Love the clean gridded up design, single colour, blind emboss and letterpress print. More here.

The Italic Poster by Eivind Soreng
Great poster by Eivind Soreng. A limited run of 100 were screenprinted white on black Plike. Now sold out there might be some around later in the year. I’ll have to get my hands on one of these.

Stumbled across this little gem the other week. Counter Print is a uk-based website “dedicated to the promotion and sale of Art and Design related material. Often out of print or hard to find, we aim to celebrate both forgotten gems as well as those heralded designers that we all admire.”

Spreads above are taken from ‘Avant Garde 8′, by Herb Lubalin.
