BTG022 ft. Kutmah & Mr Lager BTG022 ft. Kutmah & Mr Lager

We’re off to Croatia on Aug 11th for Stop Making Sense festival. Before that, we have a big lineup consisting of Brainfeeder fam (Kutmah) and the man behind many Various Production releases (Mr Lager).

Kutmah has been tearing shit up since he arrived from LA just about a year ago. Lager has been in the shadows for Various for a long while and recently finished a remix for DJ Shadow. Count Choc has been reading short stories by Khalil Gibran and only recently heard Octavia Butler was worth checking out.

So, we had our regular bi-monthly party down The Alibi on Friday. Thanks to everyone that stopped by and huge thanks to Izzy Lawrence and Josey Rebelle. Both played outstanding sets. We’ve just realised that we’d neglected to mention the party, or even post the poster up here. This was due in part to myself only getting it finished a couple of nights before. Still. Very. Very. Lame.

Our next party is happening August 5th with us, Mr Lager and Kutmah. Same time, same place. More info on that to come soon. Promise.

BTG018 ft. Midland & Paul Pre BTG018 ft. Midland & Paul Pre

BTG is 2 years old. To celebrate we’ve invited some special guests, Midland and Paul Pre. You might know Midland if you’ve been following the recent mutation of House, he has released music on Phonica Records, Aus Music, Werk, PMR, This Is Music and Southern Fried not to mention he has done some brilliant remixes of Washed Out and Caribou. He’s destined for big things, trust us.

Paul Pre is better than your favourite dj. He is the man behind our best BTGMX to date. He is flying in from Germany. Its actually ridiculous to have him – the proverbial icing on the cake, if you will. The best part is we’ll get a taste of what he’ll be playing for us at Stop Making Sense Festival this Summer. We’ll just be in a basement as opposed to on a beach.

Forgive Me Lord, For I Have Synth Forgive Me Lord, For I Have Synth

Our friends over at Slothboogie have the next installment of their “Forgive Me Lord, For I Have Synth” dance at The Horse & Groom this Friday. Not content with just a great line up, the boys and girls will be screening the “Forgive Me Lord, For I Have Synth” film and handing out free t-shirts. There’s also a promo mix which you can peep here. Find out a whole bunch more on their blog and facebook event.

Our 12th night is upon us and we’ve got Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, of Greco Roman fame, headlining for us with a rare dj set. When he’s not chilling with Marshall Jefferson, or playing for Annie Mac, he’s writing music for you to dance to. He’s a good friend, an even better dj and his knowledge of Jungle is prettaay impressive.

After our great 1yr bday party at The CAMP, we thought we’d switch our steez up and move a bit further East. The soundsystem at The Alibi is potent, and the space is reminiscent of an NYC basement – so it seemed like a great place to have a party. We’re really looking forward to it.

Also, since we tend to see these more as events than simply nights, we’re going to have limited edition mix cds for the night put together by us, as well as some posters for you to take home.
