Our friends over at Slothboogie have the next installment of their “Forgive Me Lord, For I Have Synth” dance at The Horse & Groom this Friday. Oh, psychedelic disco, how spacey art thou. Really love the vocal samples and the (usually hackneyed) use of bird calls suit the atmosphere that the french man conjures up perfectly. The synths that sneak up around the 7 minute mark are both haunting end epic, and really round off a beautiful track. One question, where’s the opium at?

I found this brilliant bit of Disco on the Beat Electric blog which I frequent and cannot recommend highly enough. Apparently this song is by a producer/writer called Donald Burnside and was released on an LA based label called AVI Records in 1979. It is amazing. safe.
