Introducing…

Following my previous post regarding Wachs Lyrical – now Regent – the second installment of my introducing series comes from Toronto native but soon to be Leeds local Nathan ‘Bwana‘ Micay.

Over the last couple of weeks Nathan’s SoundCloud page has been a riotous hive of activity, with exports and adulation coming think and fast. ‘Baby Let Me Finish’ providing the epicenter of the commotion.

‘Baby Let Me Finish’ is a track that is immediatly gripping as the soft synth chords and lilting vocal samples collide with a harsh click; a sound which develops dramatically to provide the tunes signature sound. Gradually the vocals become more saturated, cut of with ruthless precision. They mirror the click – which progresses into a melodic device. It’s ascending sequences providing a sense purpose and leading to a number of impressive drops.

From a man who has been producing for as short a time as 7 months ‘Baby Let Me Finish’ marks the beginning of something that may well dent 2012.
