The Mosca remix, posted below, rolls effortlessly with a single off-beat snare hit per bar under. The beautiful chords used in the introduction are replaced at the drop by a meandering, walking bass-line; giving the track space to accommodate Terri Walker’s melody, a voice I haven’t heard since listening to her Untitled album as a teenager. Mosca’s chopping of the vocal line gives the tune a Garage tinge, maintaining the music’ s momentum into the break.
This track, as with those of Williams’ first release on Local, has received support from a plethora of DJs including Brackles and Julio Bashmore and deservedly so; both the original and remixes are well produced and full of musicality. Heartbeat is planned to be released on 1st November and I look forward to hearing more from Williams and Local Action in the future.
